Anyone here seen anything like them within the Iberian trade range?

There are sure to be many failed points at the crystal source(s).
Usually people believe what they want to believe until reality intrudes.

No, the Scandinavian "Sun Stones " are a type of calcite , quite different from quartz .
However , in Gaelic ,quartz is Griancloch which means Sun stone .
